People with arthritis have the right to:

  1. Timely and accurate diagnosis

  2. Timely access to specialty care

  3. Information about arthritis and about their arthritis care

  4. Informed consent regarding treatment decisions

  5. Access to medications and other treatments

  6. Participate fully in society (including self-care, leisure and work pursuits)

  7. Research

  8. Representation

  9. People with arthritis have the responsibility to:

    1. Pursue healthy lifestyles

    2. Become knowledgeable about their arthritis treatment plans

    3. Actively participate in decisions about their arthritis care

    4. Co-operate fully with mutually accepted courses of treatment
